Code of Conduct
The Servus Amoris Foundation is committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct across all its operations, programs, and relationships. This Code of Conduct establishes the behavioral expectations for every member of the Foundation, ensuring that all actions are rooted in integrity, respect, and servant-leadership.
I. Introduction
The Code of Conduct of SERVUS AMORIS FOUNDATION INC. is a guiding framework that ensures all members of the foundation—including staff, volunteers, board members, scholars, and partners—uphold the highest standards of Christian ethics, professionalism, and servant-leadership. Rooted in the Gospel and Catholic Social Teaching, this code seeks to preserve the integrity, mission, and compassionate spirit of the foundation.
II. Guiding Values
The Code of Conduct is built on the foundation's SERVUS core values:
- Servanthood — Humble, Christ-like service to all, especially the vulnerable.

- Renewal — Commitment to inner healing, growth, and transformation.
- Visionary — Living and witnessing to the power of hope.

III. General Standards of Conduct
All members of the foundation are expected to:

a. Act with Integrity
o Be honest, transparent, and truthful in all communications and dealings.
o Avoid conflicts of interest and disclose potential ethical risks. -
b. Respect Human Dignity
o Treat every person with courtesy, compassion, and respect.
o Avoid discriminatory, degrading, or abusive behavior in word or action. -
c. Promote a Safe and Supportive Environment
o Foster a culture of inclusivity, emotional safety, and mutual respect.
o Reject all forms of bullying, harassment, or intimidation. -
d. Uphold Confidentiality and Trust
o Maintain the confidentiality of personal, pastoral, and institutional information.
o Safeguard the dignity of those in healing and vulnerable conditions. -
e. Commit to Professionalism
o Fulfill responsibilities with excellence, diligence, and punctuality.
o Be accountable for tasks, decisions, and delegated duties. -
f. Safeguard Resources
o Use the foundation's funds, property, and time responsibly and only for mission-related purposes.
o Report any misuse of resources or financial anomalies promptly. -
g. Live the Spirituality of Servant-Leadership
o Embody humility, listening, and pastoral care in all relationships.
o Prioritize mission over personal interest or status.
IV. Specific Expectations
A. For Staff and Officers:
- Avoid favoritism and maintain professional boundaries.
- Participate in formation programs and team-building activities.
- Submit timely reports and adhere to administrative procedures.
B. For Volunteers and Scholars:
- Represent the foundation with dignity in all public and private engagements.
- Attend required orientations, spiritual formation, and service activities.
- Refrain from engaging in behavior that discredits the foundation.
C. For Missionary Disciples of Our Lady of Hope:
- Live out the charism of hope, especially in mission to the wounded.
- Practice simplicity, availability, and fidelity to spiritual formation.
- Ensure respectful collaboration with clergy, lay partners, and host communities.
V. Prohibited Conduct
The following are strictly prohibited:
- Abuse (verbal, emotional, sexual, or physical)
- Corruption, bribery, or theft of any form
- Discrimination based on gender, status, belief, or orientation
- Possession or use of illegal substances during mission activities
- Misrepresentation of affiliation with the foundation for personal gain
- Dissemination of confidential information without proper clearance
VI. Grievance and Disciplinary Process
Reporting Violations
- Any member may report concerns in writing to the Executive Director or Chair of the Board.
- Anonymous reports are accepted but must include sufficient detail.
Investigation
- A confidential inquiry will be conducted by an appointed Ethics Committee or representative.
- The involved parties will be given an opportunity to present their side.
Sanctions
Based on the severity, disciplinary actions may include:
- a. Verbal or written warning
- b. Suspension from work or mission
- c. Termination of role or partnership
- d. Legal action when applicable
Appeals Process
- An appeal may be filed within 10 working days to the Board of Trustees.
VII. Implementation and Affirmation
This Code of Conduct is to be reviewed annually.
- All personnel, volunteers, and partners shall sign the Code of Conduct Acknowledgment Form upon entering into service with the foundation.
- Breach of this code is considered a serious matter and will be addressed accordingly.
