Mission, Vision & Core Values

SERVUS AMORIS FOUNDATION INC.

Servant of Love
Founded by Fr. Richard P. Lagos Non-Stock, Non-Profit Established 2022

Foundation Profile

SERVUS AMORIS FOUNDATION INC. founded by Fr. Richard P. Lagos in 2022 is a non-stock, non-profit organization committed to serving those who serve. Rooted in the Christian spirit of compassionate service and inspired by the healing love of Christ, the foundation seeks to help the helpers—those who dedicate their lives to healing and helping others but often carry wounds of their own.

We exist to support the formation, education, renewal, and holistic care of pastoral caregivers, especially of the Missionary Disciples of Our Lady of Hope, clergy, religious, consecrated lay people, and individuals involved in the helping professions.

At the heart of our mission is the belief that no helper should journey alone.

Vision

A world where those who serve the wounded and marginalized are themselves helped, healed, renewed, and empowered through the love of Christ—building a compassionate network of hope, healing, and solidarity.

Mission

To accompany and empower helpers—particularly those in pastoral, therapeutic, and spiritual care—through education, healing, renewal, and support. SERVUS AMORIS FOUNDATION INC. exists to:

  • S Sustain the mission of the Missionary Disciples of Our Lady of Hope in their ministry to those in recovery and human trafficking survivors.
  • P Provide avenues for healing and renewal for priests, religious, and lay leaders.
  • P Promote access to education and training, but not limited, in psychology, spirituality, sociology, and pastoral care.
  • F Foster systems of sustainability and collaborative partnerships that multiply hope and deepen care.

Goals

  • 1 Support the Missionary Disciples of Hope — Sustain and accompany the Missionary Disciples of Hope in their mission to heal wounded persons, especially those in addiction recovery and survivors of human trafficking.
  • 2 Care for the Caregivers — Create pathways for healing, rest, and holistic self-care for clergy, consecrated persons, and those in the helping ministry experiencing burnout, trauma, or spiritual fatigue.
  • 3 Offer Scholarships for Helping Professions — Provide financial assistance for individuals pursuing studies in psychology, sociology, theology, spirituality, social work, and other fields aligned with pastoral and psycho-spiritual care.
  • 4 Provide Ongoing Formation and Training — Organize retreats, seminars, and continuing education for those in pastoral and healing ministries to cultivate resilience, empathy, and professional competence.
  • 5 Establish Systems of Sustainability — Develop resource-generating programs, livelihood initiatives, and stewardship structures that ensure long-term support for helpers and their communities.
  • 6 Foster Networks and Collaborations — Build strategic partnerships with dioceses, religious congregations, educational institutions, mental health centers, and NGOs to maximize impact and strengthen mission alignment.

S

Servanthood

We embody the heart of Christ who came to serve and not to be served. Our work is a loving response to the call of humble service, especially for those who bear the burdens of others.

E

Empathy

We listen with compassion and act with deep understanding of the wounds and hopes of those in the helping ministry. We accompany others with a heart that feels, not just a mind that knows.

R

Renewal

We commit to the ongoing healing, rest, and formation of the helpers. We believe that renewed hearts lead to renewed missions.

V

Visionary

We are animated by a vision of hope that looks beyond present struggles. Our foundation is a light for those in darkness, fostering a future grounded in the redeeming love of Christ.

U

Unity in Mission

We walk in synodal solidarity, building partnerships and networks with those who share our passion for healing, accompaniment, and formation.

S

Sustainability

We build systems and structures that endure. Our mission is strengthened through responsible stewardship, livelihood opportunities, and long-term strategies that support both people and programs.
